This course offers learners a comprehensive understanding of the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for a role as a Teaching Assistant and is fully aligned with Industry Occupational Standards.

Applicants should hold a relevant Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning and have up to date Maths and English skills. A good working knowledge of ICT is also required. Experience of working as a teaching assistant in a school /education setting and have at least 10-15 hours per week guaranteed in the workplace prior to the start of the course.

The course is assessed through a range of assessment methods. These include: direct observations of performance in the workplace, professional discussions, assignments, written/oral questioning, presentations. All evidence is collated and presented in an e-portfolio.
